RSPro HexaTraction Board Grip

RSPro has stepped up their line of skillfully engineered SUP and surf products to include HexaTraction – a non-skid alternative to wax available in Clear, Black, Camo and Yellow Fluor colors. HexaTraction can be adapted to any stand-up paddleboard, shortboard, longboard, or kiteboard. Quick and easy installation using the template included with each kit. Specs: 1 Standard kit (box) is composed of 18 full hexagons and 4 half hexagons 6.3″ (16cm) and a HexaTraction star-shaped installation template.

• Surf shortboard: 1 standard kit would be sufficient.
• Fun boards and Long boards: 2 standard kits recommended. 3 kits for boards longer than 8′.
• SUP nose: 1 standard kit would be sufficient.
• SUP full deck: 2-3 standard kits recommended.

Installation TIPS for a perfect installation:

1. We recommend to install it at room temperature. Below 68F (20C) the material and glue tend to get rigid, which will make installation more difficult.
2. Thoroughly clean the area with alcohol or similar. Make sure no wax is present. Avoid industrial cleaners.
3. Before starting, lay out the HexaTraction hexagons choosing the best pattern to cover the area where you need grip and traction.
4. PRO TIP: Peel exactly half of the adhesive backing of the first HexaTraction hexagon, so it will be super easy to align with the board centerline.
5. Pour plenty of water. Plenty! It will help in having no air bubbles.
6. Stick on half of the hexagon making sure to remove all air and water out by rubbing with your fingers and/or cloth. Remove the other half of the backing and squeeze all the air and water out.
7. PRO TIP: Squeeze from the center to the edges or from one side and across so all air and water is pushed out.
8. Using the HexaTraction black star as a template, progress through the deck one hexagon at a time.
9. PRO TIP: Align the template on the side of the hexagon with the adhesive backing still on.
10. Complete the layout using the half hexagons if needed.
11. You’re done. Review all hexagons, making sure all the water is out, allow to dry (not in the sun) and let it cure for a few hours before heading into the water.

HexaTraction uses a strong adhesive. If you need to remove it, we suggest using a hair dryer or heatgun to apply some gentle heat so the adhesive softens, and removal is easier. If your board is painted or coated this is especially recommended.
