A downwind, parawing and wing board built for the swell and wave rider. Designed by Ken Adgate and Kyle Touhey around high-commitment turns, messy touchdowns and real ocean conditions, with a rounded bottom, aggressive chines and increased tail rocker. Six sizes from 50 to 114 L, with Track or Tuttle connection.
The 2027 Slingshot Project Drag is a board for parawing, wing foiling and downwind riding, built to stay under your feet during high-speed turns, touchdowns and open-ocean riding. Slingshot designed it with Ken Adgate and Kyle Touhey around high-commitment turns, messy touchdowns and real ocean conditions, so it stays stable when you are pushing yourself. A distinct rocker line, rounded bottom shaping and aggressive chines help it release cleanly from the water and prevent rail catches when you are leaned over.
Slingshot describes the ride as composed, predictable and direct. The board is shaped to maintain control and speed when the rider is fully committed, using rocker, rail geometry and a balanced design to prevent unwanted behavior while on foil.
| Bottom shape | Rounded, for fast release on touchdowns |
|---|---|
| Rails | Aggressive forward chines |
| Rocker | Increased tail rocker for pumping freedom; matched to swell curves |
| Foil connection | Integrated Tuttle system or standard carbon Track design |
| Sizes | 50 L, 62 L, 72 L, 84 L, 95 L, 114 L |
Slingshot designed the board as part of a complete system with its Project Drag mast and foil, aiming for a more direct connection and trusting behavior across different riding conditions.
Slingshot built it for downwind parawing runs, wing freeride and high-speed open-ocean conditions. It is tagged for freeride, freestyle, surf/prone, wave riding and parawing, and rates highly on touchdown recovery, stability, efficiency and reactivity.
Slingshot says it is designed with hard turning in mind, not takeoff.
The rounded bottom shape and forward chines let the board release quickly without sticking or grabbing.
The increased tail rocker keeps the tail from sticking while you pump and helps the board stay above the water in messy conditions.
They are two ways the foil connects to the board. The Tuttle version uses an integrated Tuttle system for a stiff, low-drag, direct connection, and the Track version uses a standard carbon track design. Choose the one that matches your foil, and call the shop if you are not sure which your foil uses.
Downwind parawing runs, wing freeride and high-speed open-ocean riding.
Board size depends on rider weight, skill and the foil you plan to ride. Slingshot publishes a size chart, and we can help you choose. Questions on sizing? Call the shop.
